Summer

Well summer is slowly winding down and I keep thinking about the backyard garden that we had growing up. Everything was so bold and flavorful. Gardening was part of the daily chores and Dad wouldn't let up. There was hoeing, weeding, watering, picking and digging and etc..How I do miss those days of past.

Coming full circle, these days its hip to have the back yard garden . If not at least checking out the farmers market on Saturday's and belonging to a CSA. Full Circle, what once is old is new again. I find it almost strange and refreshing that in this modern era of technology and gadgets a primal instinct kicks in and we pine for that connection with the good earth and simple pleasures that she yields.

I am so delighted that there is such a resurgent with farm to table markets for restaurants. Actually knowing where and who grew or raised your food, wow what a concept.

I do miss those days I spent with Dad in the garden, maybe just not the hoeing.
